Youth Basketball Expanding in the Gretna Community
GRETNA, NEBRASKA: August 23, 2024 — An exciting expansion has emerged in youth sports for the Gretna community, as Gretna Basketball Association’s “GBA” youth programs are joining the Willet & Cumro Innovations family of brands.
Willet & Cumro Innovations currently operate an array of premier basketball organizations, including Omaha Sports Academy, Lincoln-based Supreme Basketball, Iowa Impact in Council Bluffs and CNBA out of Aurora, among others. The ownership transition will allow GBA teams to operate independently under the new Gretna Basketball Academy, LLC, which will continue to focus on serving the Gretna community with enhanced opportunities for player development, communication and technology, improved operational systems, and financial support from the shared services ecosystem within Willet & Cumro Innovations.
“Gretna Basketball Association has been operating youth basketball programs for nearly 20 years, with an emphasis on providing opportunities for all Gretna District residents to participate in the game we love and to help support our high school programs,” Gretna Basketball Association President Ryan Johnson said. “When considering the long-term future of GBA youth teams, we were looking to enhance the player experience with greater opportunities for development and long-term growth, which led us to Willet & Cumro Innovations. They are committed to the Gretna community, understand youth basketball, and will provide opportunities for our players that we frankly could no longer provide.”
Athletes and families can continue to expect the same focus on serving Gretna district residents players within these rosters, with the same practice locations, training and program branding contributing to the well-known Gretna basketball community.
